School Community Council

MES SCC Vision

Monticello Elementary School's School Community Council (SCC) operates with the purpose of enhancing the quality of education for students by focusing on improvement, parent involvement, and public awareness. The council works to:

Improve Education: The SCC collaborates with the school administration to improve programs and conditions. They collect and analyze data to inform school improvement plans, ensuring that these plans are aligned with the needs of the students and evidence of growth.

Involve Parents: The SCC provides a platform for parents to actively engage in decisions regarding their children's education. Through this council, the school ensures that the perspectives of parents, students, and staff are heard and considered in all decision-making processes.

Increase Public Awareness: The SCC helps to inform the broader community about school trust lands, state land policies, and the use of the State School Fund, ensuring transparency and accountability in how educational resources are managed.

Communicate: The SCC fosters open communication among parents, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. By promoting a shared governance model, they encourage collaborative decision-making that directly supports the school’s improvement goals and fosters a strong sense of community involvement.
